With 2018 coming to a close, I’ve been going full throttle in growing my business, meeting goals and professional development. This weekend, I am a featured speaker at Flipology 203: Commercial Wholesaling. It’s not too late to register! I will be discussing Multi-Family valuation and Buyer needs from a brokerage perspective.
In addition to several holiday and networking events, I had the pleasure of joining NEW CRE, a group of minority commercial real estate professionals. The inaugural event was at the Porsche Headquarters and hosted by several industry veterans.
If you’ve read my blog, you already know my passion for affordable housing. I had the pleasure of attending the 30th Atlanta Regional Housing Forum. Affordable housing is still an issue 30 years later. I plan to continue to advocate and work to ensure that everyone has a home. Atlanta Mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms spoke on the progress of her campaign promise to commit $1 Billion toward affordable housing.
Lastly, in my Quest (pun intended, click the link to see) to advocate for affordable housing, I was appointed as a Board of Director to another non-profit entity, QCDO Support Corporation. This non-profit is charged specifically with overseeing the Quest Non-Profit Center for Change, a 24,000 sf mixed-use commercial space that will house retail and office space for non-profits and serve the Westside of Atlanta. This is separate from the Quest Community Development Organization mission of providing affordable housing and supportive services.
To enhance my skill set and perform as an effective Board Member, last night I graduated from the City of Atlanta Community Leadership Institute. What an awesome experience! I met so many powerhouse individuals who work and care about the community at-large. I’m proud to be apart of such a distinguished group of leaders.
I will wrap up this week before the holiday with a REAP Holiday event and speaking at Flipology 203. The next few weeks will require intense dedication and focus on meeting a goal that will propel my career in 2019. Don’t take your foot off the gas! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
